I left Graduate School in the summer of 2006 and moved in with Denis Kuptsov, drummer of Leningrad - one of the biggest bands in Russia. For two years I had an insider's view on the wild world of contemporary Russian Rock. Performing in Europe, America, and Russia for over a decade to sold-out crowds, Leningrad and its lead man Sergei Shnurov quickly achieved cult status, with Shnur's face lighting up magazine covers on every newsstand. To the shock of many fans, the band suddenly broke up at end of 2008. In addition to pictures of other incredible groups, I was left with an unintentional portrait of the last years of one the greatest Russian rock bands of all time.
